Call for Exhibition Proposals

As part of Plymouth Art Weekender 27th, 28th, 29th September, Ocean Studios are seeking proposals from artist(s) to take over the gallery space between 17th – 29th Sept.

The Plymouth Art Weekender is an annual city-wide event, celebrating and supporting visual arts in the city. A platform, not only for cultural organisations, but also for grass-root DIY creative projects to develop and be showcased.

Every year Ocean Studios play a role in creating a network hub for the event in the heart of Royal William Yard. Culture vultures engage throughout the building, attending workshops, exploring open studios, one-off performances and of course visiting exhibition/projects in various spaces within the building.

What we're looking for

This coming autumn the Real Ideas Organisation are hosting and leading a series of events with a focus on New Economic Models and in response, we are looking for artist(s) to exhibit a body of work relating to this theme over PAW in the Café Gallery space at Ocean Studios.

Alongside this exhibition, we will be welcoming the inaugural Plymouth Social Club to Ocean Studios over Plymouth Art Weekender, where Aaron Bastani and Marcy Saude will be in conversation, discussing Aaron’s debut book Fully Automated Luxury Communism.
