Run by Real Ideas Organisation (RIO), Ocean Studios offers a space to create for the city of Plymouth, providing affordable studios and workshop facilities for artists to develop their practices in the heart of the historic Royal William Yard.
By creating a specialist provision in the form of unique managed workshops, Ocean Studios boosts creative enterprise in the city aiming to engage local people in the arts.
In addition to individual studios, shared spaces and well-equipped workshops, we also offer award-winning freshly baked bread and delicious pastries at our Column Bakehouse Cafe/Gallery located within the gallery space, helping to fuel your day and creativity.
Ocean Studios is also home to Royal William Yard’s only indoor events space, which is available to hire all year round.
The growing vibrant creative community created by RIO at Ocean Studios has acted as a catalyst to revitalise Plymouth as a cultural destination re-engaging the city with the national arts dialogue.
